What I wore lately
There are days when I work from home and I want to be in jeans and a t-shirt every single moment, but then I decide against it and go change. I’ve noticed that what I wear does affect my productivity and how I approach things, so there’s that.
Morning coffee by the pool, followed by breakfast, getting my son ready for the day, and then I do my best to prioritize my tasks and stick to a schedule that doesn’t involve distractions along the way. This used to be difficult since my phone used to light up from all the notifications, but I’ve learned to mute it and leave it on a chair somewhere in the distance and only check it after I fully complete a task, or I take a break without feeling like my thoughts are tangled or losing the train of thought on a project.
Mostly I am wearing denim a shirt, but I am branching out into skirts and dresses because it’s summer and sometimes I just feel like it.
Many of the pieces I am wearing are Celine by Hedi Slimane - most of you know how much I love his work, especially the denim and tailoring. The rest are newer pieces by The Row, and even some new Celine - the denim is definitely not the same, but it’s good for the heat we’re having and so I’m trying not to think about it too much (I think about it way too much). I didn’t purchase many shoes lately, trying to wear more what I already have but if I fall in love with something new I’ll definitely write about it.
That’s about it. Time goes by too fast, we get busy with life, we get serious about so many things, and we forget how much we love to dance, to read, to swim, to watch the sunset, or to simply be. This is a passion project and for some reason I kept saying “later”. I don’t want to do that anymore. I want to do what brings me joy, to wear the good pieces, not save them for whatever “special” occasion, to tell you about them, to write about new discoveries or ideas, to build a community of people who simply love life. It brings me joy just to say that.
