New York City was a spontaneous idea on the brink of our anniversary. The weather was perfect for layering, with crisp mornings and warm afternoons, and just this simple thing alone brought me a lot of joy. I didn’t plan my outfits, and I didn’t overpack either, because I knew I would find a few things to join my wardrobe back home and I needed the luggage space. Below you’ll find things I wore, things I packed, things I shopped and things I loved but didn’t buy - and which I’m now debating whether maybe I should.
Things I packed, and things I wore
I didn’t take pictures of all my outfits, somehow it just wasn’t a priority, but I did wear everything I had packed.
I’m working on uploading almost everything here, if you want to have a look.
The second day was even better, as I went back for a trench coat but then found this beauty waiting for me. Even though it’s mostly warm weather where I live, I couldn't leave it behind - it fits like a hug.
Top of my list for this trip was also Bergdorf’s, because I love it, and because that day it was also raining. I met my friend for coffee and then we walked together the floors with beautiful clothes and shoes. I tried a few things at The Row, but they didn’t have my size so I ended up at my favorite online store in search of treasures. The Chanel shoes were a lucky find, as the store usually has a queue too long for my patience but that day, nobody was waiting so D. and I were able to waltz right in. And to my utmost surprise, especially in that particular location, the staff was exquisite! Charming, pleasant, unhurried, attentive, kind - it was just so good.
Another pleasant surprise at Chanel has been the fit. I had to usually size up, always having to try things, sometimes going up by half a size and sometimes a full size. Both of these are true to size, and simply perfect.
Celine. The mothership. I went not knowing exactly what I would find, as I am still getting used to Hedi not being there anymore, but I did end up loving a few pieces.
I had loved this top upon seeing it online, and I wanted to see how it fits before having it join my wardrobe. It is one of those pieces that I loved immediately upon trying it, and it can be worn as a jacket, too. I think that’s exactly why I loved it so much, actually.
